Announcing the Richmond Community Legal Fund!

We are a nonprofit legal collaborative that connects community members with legal resources, both legal representation and necessary funds for legal defense.

Join us for our launch!

We’ve felt grief, we’ve felt rage—now it’s time to fight for hope.

Join us April 25th for a kickoff party celebrating our launch. All proceeds will directly support the defense of members of our community in cases related to immigration, civil rights, labor, and other urgent needs.

Doors open at 6! We party til 9. Food and drinks in house. DJ The Disco Cat on the airwaves. All are welcome.

About the fund

Why is this necessary?

Federal assaults on the lives and civil liberties of working people are more severe than most of us have seen in our lifetimes. Undocumented and immigrant families are targeted by rapidly escalating raids. Students and teachers are fighting crackdowns on free speech. Trans youth and their families are losing access to care. Public sector workers face repression, cuts, and loss of their livelihood.

What happens next?

All of us have watched with grief and rage as unjust and illegal policies threaten our daily lives. We are also fighting back—with hope and love for a more just future for all of us. Your donation to the RCLF will directly support urgent responses to community needs: training, legal representation, court fines and fees, and support with legal documentation.

How do I get services?

We will be rolling out services in the coming months after our launch in April. Please sign up for the newsletter for updates.

Who we are?

Our founding board members are Charlie Schmidt, Kaylin Cecchini, Kristin Reed, and Quinton Robbins. We are a group of organizers and lawyers who have experience in Union and Community Organizing and Legal Services. We came together through our work and experiences and are keenly aware of the gaps in funding for legal services. If you are interested in joining our board to help expand our organizational capacity, please use the contact form below.
